From: Velma Campbell Date: 9/01/2007 5:48 PDT Although viewing from an urban location is not ideal, I thought you might be interested in what could be seen, viewing from a backyard away from downtown, and sheltered from the moon and streetlights. My field of view was looking straight at Gemini, north to south from north of Auriga to past Orion and vertically to above Mars. From 5:20 am to 6:08 when only the planets were visible, I observed 8 very bright meteors, 5 moving N-to-S. 3 had lingering, colorful tails of greenish glow. Also, there were a number of barely visible streaks higher in the dark sky, not really a "shower", but for a warm, early morning viewing it was worth getting up a bit earlier than usual. Thanks for all your work. Velma Campbell
