From: Clark Chapman Date: 9/01/2007 12:32 PDT Here is a qualitative report from my home WSW of Boulder, Colorado. Skies mostly clear, moon bright, dawn even brighter by end of observing period. Observed from 5:17 am to 5:38 am MDT. Nine meteors observed, all plausibly radiating from somewhere to the southeast (toward Aldebaran) from Capella. All meteors seen about as bright as Capella or up to a few magnitudes brighter. (Sky condition good enough to have seen somewhat fainter meteors, but none seen.) No sporadics during period. 7 of the 9 meteors occurred during two ~1-minute intervals at about 5:21 am and about 5:30 am MDT. During each of these spurts there was a pair of meteors separated by only a few seconds. All meteors viewed centrally and high up in the sky exhibited short trains lasting 1 - 2 seconds. I had a visual impression that most of the meteors "flared" more than is typically the case, as if they varied in brightness with a period of 0.05 sec. Best, Clark
