From: Cynthia Altieri Date: 9/01/2007 5:10 PDT Thanks for the 'heads up' in the media about the rare meteor shower. This was a real treat for my child (and me). We live on the North Oregon Coast in Astoria, Oregon. The weather had called for a partly cloudy sky, but luckily it was clear just long enough to seem some meteors. We were looking from 3:45 to 4:45 am. Each meteor seemed headed in a different direction, with the brightest ones going East to West. We saw maybe 20 or so, all white with a yellow tinge. There was one about 4:35 am that was the brightest of all, and had a very distict blue color at the center. Very cool. Sorry we couldn't get a picture. Thanks again, Cynthia Altieri
